If you\u2019re looking for an affordable, reliable smartphone that can do it all, the Samsung Galaxy A23 is a great choice. It has a powerful chipset, smooth-running screen, likable design, and plenty of cameras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its quad-camera setup offers a 50MP main camera, with a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. These features make it an excellent option for taking photos in a variety of conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camera<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Samsung Galaxy A23<\/a> comes with a multi-lens camera that takes great photos. It has a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultrawide cam, a 2MP macro camera and a depth camera. The primary camera also has OIS to reduce handshake blur and a f\/1.8 aperture to ensure good low light performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A23 also has a front-facing 8MP selfie shooter that’s in the notch, and it’s capable of taking social media-ready images. The front camera isn’t very good in low light, however, and it tends to blot out detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, the Galaxy A23’s camera is quite average. It’s not quite as sharp or colorful as we would like it to be, but it does take fairly nice photos and isn’t overly grainy or noisy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of 1080p video, the A23’s camera is quite good – the resolved detail is adequate for a Full HD video and the contrast and the dynamic range are fine, too. It isn’t quite as smooth as the OnePlus N300 5G, but it’s still pretty good for its price tag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Videos are shot in a 1080p format and are saved to the internal storage at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. They have a bitrate of 17Mbps, and they are also recorded in stereo with 256kbps audio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main camera is an f\/1.8 lens with OIS, which isn’t too bad for this price range. The lens has a 123-degree field of view, but the corners are soft and details aren’t as detailed as we would expect in a high-end smartphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For comparison, the OnePlus N300 5G has a f\/1.8 lens with OIS and an even wider 123-degree field of view. The OnePlus also has a 2X toggle for the video, but the results aren’t worth showing here since they’re upscaled crops from the standard output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the primary and the ultrawide cameras capture very good 1080p videos. The resolved detail is plenty for a Full HD video, the contrast and the dynamic range are good, and the colors stay accurate. The main camera isn’t the best for low-light video, though, as it’s prone to noise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Display<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Galaxy A23 is no slouch when it comes to the display department. Samsung hasn’t skimped on the quality of their latest flagship and it shows. The screen is no doubt one of the most enjoyable devices to use, not to mention one of the most difficult to damage. Thankfully, the company has included a good old fashioned warranty. It’s also a very well designed device and Samsung deserves all the credit. The A23 also boasts a bevy of smart features including the best Android software we’ve ever seen in a smartphone. For example, it includes the most comprehensive suite of privacy features we’ve ever seen in a budget priced smartphone. This makes the A23 a very appealing if not downright enjoyable option for anyone in the market for an affordable, if slightly less powerful octet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A23 is an excellent choice for those who want a good budget phone without the hefty price tag. It packs plenty of power and is regularly updated with Android version updates and security patches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A23 has a good camera, with the primary lens having a high megapixel count and optical image stabilization (OIS) to help reduce blurry photos. But it’s still not perfect in low lighting, and its colors are prone to a lot of graininess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, the front camera has a lower megapixel count but does a better job in brighter environments, resulting in more accurate skin tones. The selfie camera also has OIS and a wider field of view than most other smartphones in this price range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for performance, the A23 isn’t an absolute whiz but it manages to get most tasks done quickly and efficiently. Internet surfing is quick and the device doesn’t get bogged down when transferring large files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another plus point for the A23 is its UFS 2.2 storage, which offers faster transfer rates than the old-fashioned eMMC unit in the A22. This is a major improvement for daily use, especially when loading pages and viewing images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A23’s display isn’t as sharp as OLED panels, but it does a decent job of displaying high-quality images. Colors are balanced and the black level is good, although it’s a little hard to see the edge of the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s also fairly easy to get a bright picture when the screen is set to its highest brightness setting, though the maximum contrast isn’t very high. It’s also a bit tricky to see the edge of the screen in sunlight, which makes it a little more difficult to see small details when you’re watching videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A23’s battery performs well, too, as it lasts for long periods of time even after heavy usage. In our tests, we were able to clock in 18 hours of web browsing and 16 hours of video playback on the device with a full charge. This is a pretty impressive feat for a device in this price range, and we were particularly impressed with its battery endurance as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re looking for an A23 battery to replace the one that came with your phone, then we recommend choosing one from a trusted brand like Duracell.
